Sorry for the downtime

Sorry for the downtime. Been experiencing hosting issues and have had to switch to GoDaddy hosting for the time being.

However, I lost most of the comments. Not much I can do about it.

  1. Hey Otto,
that doesn’t sound good and I really miss all the itunes related stuff, comments, links.
Is there any chance to get the scripts back like somethimng you called updater if I remember right?

I have a vbscript to backup the ratings inside a tag of the track (DiscCount). That was something somebody asked for.
After some trouble with another solution due to the special characters (not everything was restored) I went back to that solution.

Hope you got a better backup option & service provider.

Enjoy your beer especially the Hefeweizen , I will get a bavarian one this evening – fortunatelly I will spent another 3 days in bavaria.

  2. Since I’d like to try my hand at writing an iPod-plugin for the musikCube media player (of which a 1.0 version was just released), I’m also interested in getting your iTunesDB code. It would be even better if you could get the improvements from Aero (I’m willing to ask him myself, but it would probably make more sense coming from you…). I looked at libgpod, but it’s only for Linux as far as I can see, and I don’t know about any other libs that’ll work on Windows…

  3. You probably want to ask Aero for the code. The last version of the iTunesDB code I have is non-functional by about 3 iPod updates.

  4. Hi, I’ve seen links and descriptions around the web to some of your iTunes scripts and I’d love to get my hands on them. I recently moved my iTunes library from my Powerbook to my PC because I upgraded from a firewire iPod to a USB one and the Powerbook only has USB 1.0. Anyway, now I’d like to rewrite my tag cleaning scripts in javascript (I have several that I hacked together in Applescript over the years that do things like smart capitalization, appending the artist field to the song name for sountracks, etc.) but I don’t know where to start.

Please email me at matt@mattmoore.ws if you can help, otherwise I’ll check back here occasionally to see if you’ve uploaded your scripts. Thanks!
